Kirill is a 4th year Law and Politics student from Germany. He has been involved in the MUN Society at Essex since his first year, beginning in his first year as Secretary followed by Social Secretary and Vice President. He is active within the Societies Guild as well, being elected Secretary this year and was Politics and Activities Convenor last year. He attended World MUN '09 and was a part of both MUNEX '08 and '09.
Secretary: Alice Lixi Alice is a 2nd year Law and Human Rights student from Italy. This year she is not only the Secretary for MUN but is also the Treasurer for the Human Rights Society and the Treasurer of the Societies Guild. Last year she attended LIMUN '09, WorldMUN '09, GlobalMUN '09, and organized accommodation for MUNEX '09 in addition to participating as a delegate, where she won a "Best Delegate" award.
Treasurer: Catherine Moore Catherine is a 2nd year student studying English and French Law. She is from the United States and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Romance Languages from the University of Georgia. She enjoys the debating aspect of Model UN the most and loves traveling and learning about new cultures. She was the Secretary for the society last year, head delegate at LIMUN '09, attended WorldMUN '09, and co-chaired MUNEX '09. In addition to her role as Treasurer and Finance Officer for MUNEX 2010, she was elected the Politics and Activities Convenor for the Societies Guild, Treasurer of the Law Society, and a Law Clinic Advisor for 2009-2010. In her spare time she enjoys historical fiction, auto racing, doing various accents, and movie nights.
Social Secretary: Harriet Shaw
Harriet is a 2nd year English and French law student. She has both French and British nationalities and lives in France. She enjoys playing sports, music, traveling, and discovering different cultures which is a great advantage of MUN conferences. She attended WorldMUN '09 in the Hague and GlobalMUN '09 in Geneva and loved the debating and negotiating aspects of it and hopes you will enjoy MUN conferences as much as she does!!
Conference Officer: Sarah Chau Sarah is a 2nd year student from Hong Kong studying International Relations and Politics. She joined the MUN Society in Essex in her first year and was involved in the organising process of MUNEX'09. Although she does not have a great portfolio of MUN experience, she is dedicated in giving you the best conference ever!
Under Secretary General: Maximilien Von Berg
A new face in the MUNEX, Maximilien attended his first MUN conference in November 2009 in Nottingham where he earned a “special mention”. Representing a group, a community of values and interests, is something Maximilien is keen on devoting himself to. This has led him to become involved with MUN at Essex and to be elected Vice-President 2009-2010. Currently a second year student in International Relations and Politics, Maximilien is the Student Representative for 2nd Year Government students, an executive member of the Amnesty International society, and a reporter for the Rabbit (Student Newspaper of the University of Essex). He is also a dedicated sportsman and competes with the Athletics, Triathlon and Swimming clubs. His interests lie in the field of XXth century history, political economy and foreign policy. He is a great fan of Winston Churchill, doesn't mind British weather, and enjoys cycling around the countryside.
